The Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III in cooperation with the Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Office opened the 28th National Statistics Month celebration through a ceremonial ribbon cutting of the Statistical Exhibit on October 4, 2017 at the La Union Pasalubong Center, Mabanag Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The theme for the said celebrated this October is “Kinapudno ken Pigura para iti Masakbayan: Estadistika para iti Desision a Naikugnal iti Ebidensya nga Agturong iti Ambisyon Natin 2040,” which reflects the relevance of statistics, data gathering, planning and decision making, recognizing these as major tools to uplift various sectors of society and to ensure prosperity and economic progress.
Apart from the exhibit, a motorcade took place participated in by Philippine National Police (PNP) vehicles from various municipalities which were decorated with ornaments, crops, proudly Iloko woven garments and wooden accessories. The said PNP vehicles were entries for search of Best PNP Float Competition.
