As part of the celebration of the 117th Civil Service Anniversary, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III conducted a two-day orientation seminar that culminated with an oath taking ceremony on September 15, 2017 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The Office of the Governor-Human Resource Management Division (OPG-HRMD) led by Ma. Theresa C. Feraren facilitated the event. She reminded the attendees on proper office decorum, government hours and PGLU policies. Ms. Loida C. Rivera of the Provincial Planning and Development Office talked about gender sensitivity in the office setting. Partner agencies like the Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and PAG-IBIG also took part in briefing the attendees about their rights and benefits in government service.

Governor Pacoy administered the oath to the new members of the PGLU family. He asked for their full commitment and support to the people of La Union, the PGLU, and his administration. Part of the two-day event aligned the participants to the mission of being catalysts for sustainable and inclusive development and to the PGLUs vision of making La Union the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
