City of San Fernando, La Union – To align the development efforts of its component Local Government Units (LGUs) with its vision to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) conducted a Performance Governance System (PGS) Mini-Boot Camp on April 5-7, 2017 at the Agora Events Center, Thunderbird Resorts and Hotel.

In his presentation titled, “The La Union Transformative Governance Journey,” Governor Francisco Emmanuel Pacoy R. Ortega III illustrated the importance of determining the schemes fit for a specific vision. He emphasized that the La Union Transformative Governance Roadmap (LUTGR) presents a unique and valuable position for La Union which banks on different set of activities to make La Union, the heart of Agri-tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. He explained to the participants composed of Planning, Tourism and Agricultural Officers the distinct competitive position for La Union. Gov. Pacoy further explained the importance of the LGUs’ relation to one another especially in the identified Tourism Circuits. He enjoined everyone to be God-loving, people-oriented, accountable and committed, as these core values will make participants catalysts for sustainable and inclusive development for the improvement of the life of the people of La Union.
