For the sixth time in a row, the Municipality of Agoo brought home the bacon when Ms. Carina Carino bagged Mutia ti La Union 2017 title during the pageant coronation night on March 2, 2017 at the San Fernando City Plaza.

Ms. Carino, a 19 year-old 3rd year BS Applied Statistics student at De La Salle University is the daughter of 1989 Miss La Union Nora Gebilaguin who also represented Agoo.

Apart from her charms and beauty, she wowed the judges led by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in the Question and Answer portion when she wittingly answered, “I would have to name my handler Mommy Paul because she has inspired me to go here and be here to inspire people as well. I do not think that we should limit the female figure to women who are biologically female because we already have transcended towards a new era where we can define women as those who have already changed their gender and already decided to be identified as women. I think that Mommy Paul has inspired me here to stand infront of you all in this pageant because I believe that he told me and inspired me that pageants are celebration of a woman’s beauty and inspires and empowers women and that is how big his impact in my life… her impact in my life is” when asked by Ms. Wurtzbach “Aside from your mother, can you name another female figure in your life that inspired you?”
