The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III through the Provincial Information and Tourism Office participated in a 4-day Year-end Seminar Workshop on Visitor Arrivals Tracking hosted by the Department of Tourism-Regional Office 1 (DOT-RO1) held on November 21-24, 2016 at Punta Riviera Resort, Bolinao, Pangasinan.
Participants were Tourism Officers and tourism statistics data gathering focal persons from the Local Government Units (LGUs) of the different municipalities of the four provinces in Region 1 which include Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.
Lectures and updates to retool the focal persons on the process of tourism statistics data gathering and as well as its use in the tourism development planning was emphasized during the training.

Highlights of the seminar were Standard Basic and Advance Tourism Data Gathering and Visitor Survey on Tourist Attractions and Departure Points facilitated by Mr. Ramil S. Basuel of the Department of Tourism’s Office of Tourism Planning, Research and Information Management (DOT-OTPRIM).
