The Indigenous People’s (IPs) Month celebrated every October culminated in the Municipality of Santol, La Union after conducting the IP Caravan in the other five IP identified Municipalities namely Bagulin, Burgos, Pugo, San Gabriel and Sudipen. The IP Caravan is a means of reaching target population in the IP community and give them access to relevant health information, services and commodities.

In every IP Caravan, Provincial Health Officer of La Union, Dr. Hector T. Beñas, discussed the importance of the Caravan and how the IPs could benefit from its activities. Among the activities were Child Survival Package distribution where micro-nutrients powder, hygiene kits and multivitamins were given to children; Maternal/Women’s Package where pregnant women were given to prenatal care and provided buntis kits; Access to FP Commodities; Dental Services; chest X-ray in the Mobile Clinic; eye check-up and free reading glasses and Immunization for Elderly on Pneumococcal and Flu.
