No deaths were recorded in the Province of La Union when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 3 was raised in the province when Typhoons “Karen” and “Lawin” passed over the province last October 15 and 18, respectively.

Due to the preparedness of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) under the leadership of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) led by Mr. Bobby Valdriz, City, Municipal and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices and other key agencies and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), the typhoons spared La Union of heavy damages and deaths.
