As part of the annual Civil Service Month Celebration, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) held the PGLU Retirees Homecoming and Wellness Program in recognition to the contributions of its retired employees in public service on October 7, 2016 at the Diego Silang Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Gov. Francisco “Pacoy” Emmanuel Ortega III gave his heartfelt thanks to the 92 retirees in attendance and acknowledged the instrumental years they dedicated for public service towards building what La Union is today. He welcomed them home and gave reassurance that the PGLU family will always be there for them. Governor Pacoy declared that they are part of the journey of change to transform the Provincial Government and invited them to help him realize, through support and prayers, the vision of establishing La Union as the heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon.

The PGLU Retirees Homecoming and Wellness Program includes various activities focusing on health, physical fitness, cellular nutrition, caring for the elderly, living healthy lifestyles, fun-filled raffles and games. After recruitment, rewards and retention, the PGLU through the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) led by Ma. Theresa C. Feraren, continues to support the employees even after retirement.
