Supporting the initiative of La Union Baywatch Network for Sustainable Fisheries (LUBNSF) and the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), a three-day Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Communications Training organized by Ecosystems Improved for Sustainable Fisheries (ECOFISH), a special project of the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and funded by the United States Agency for International Development(USAID), was held on September 13 to 15, 2016 at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union.

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III graced the event reassuring the participants of his intentions to continue the environmental protection initiatives of his father, immediate Past Governor Manuel C. Ortega. Governor Pacoy stressed the importance of genuine effort and cooperation among the different government agencies and other organizations to establish La Union as the heart of Agri-Tourism in the Northern Luzon.
