Committed to its mandate to be an avenue for resolution of issues affecting the province's constituents, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union conducted a Marathon Committee Hearing to address the complaints on the construction of a Hydroelectric Power plant Project in Tubao,La Union.

In a letter sent to the SP by Mr. Charlie Cirilito Juloya coursed through the office of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel R. Ortega III, the residents of Sitio Daeng, Brgy. Macabato in Aringay town have raised concern over the construction of the said project near their community. Issues raised were the absence of relocation and/or compensation plan for those who will be displaced; absence of a meaningful public consultation to concerned/affected residents; and the possibility that parcels of farmlands and houses will be submerged once the dam becomes operational.
