It all starts here, it all starts with you.”

Dagiti napadayawan ket da Ms. Glenda G. Andrada (City of San Fernando), Ms. Rosemarie S. Barde (San Juan), Ms. Leonila N. Casipit (Luna), Ms. Elvira D. Gagua (Balaoan), Ms. Milagrina A. Madriaga (Tubao), Ms. Veralee V. Noto (Bangar), Ms. Letecia A. Oriente (Santol), Ms. Salvacion C. Pacetes (Bacnotan), Ms. Cheryll G. Putil (Sudipen) ken Ms. Maritess G. Tejano (Bauang).

Provinces, cities and municipalities within Region I actively participated in the event. Winners were Jee Lei Mariane I. Cagdoan of Laoag City for Jingle Making contest; Raymund A. Porras of Laoag City for Poster Making; El Kanah Lior S. Tulliong of Salcedo, Ilocos Sur for Singing Contest; Hanna Grace Tomas of Laoag City, for Draw and Tell Contest.

Representatives of La Union also brought home prizes. Renielle Jan Gundran of the City of San Fernando bagged the 2nd place in Poster-Making contest. While Sarah Grace Sophia T. Rullan also bagged 2nd place in the Draw and Tell contest.

“There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other, wings.” Gov. Pacoy said explaining the need to teach the children to be grounded and to learn and appreciate good values and culture, to be able to reach their highest potential. He further explained that Children’s Month celebrates the great Joy of being a child and the great responsibility to raise the children in the best way possible, that they can be the best they can be.

The said celebrations ran from November 22 up to November 24 and also include activities such as Children’s Congress and Forum which gives the children and those working with the children the awareness on the rights of a child and how to protect them in a situation where the child’s welfare is at stake. The activity also focuses on the issue of malnutrition and gender issue during work immersion.
