Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III recognized the hardwork and sacrifices of the members of the La Union Federation of Parents-Teachers Association (LUFPTA) during the LUFPTA 10th Congress on October 3, 2017 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. In his message, Gov. Pacoy vowed to strengthen the academic sector as part of his transformative governance program as he said, “I am a parent, I am an educator, I am one with you.” Pledging his utmost support and commitment to the LUFPTA Officers, he affirms to bring innovation and transformation in creating more programs, projects and activities for the welfare of every student in public schools.



Chairman of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Education, Hon. Nancy Corazon M. Bacurnay encouraged the LUFPTA officers to work together with PGLU in its responsibility to provide opportunities for the people in the province. Schools Division Superintendent of La Union Dr. Rowena C. Banzon led the induction of the newly elected officers of LUFPTA namely, Jose “JP” Ping-ay Jr. as President; Dra. Rowina C. Aguilen as Vice-President of North; Shyla C. Cabebe as Vice- President of South; Pamela Mae R. Alejo as Secretary; Donnie V. Navarro as Treasurer; Gonzalo J. Abat Jr as Auditor and Rodolfo W. Bucao as PRO.

The new members of the Board of Directors are Mario Abando, Laborty C. Lerot, Felix D. Leal, Ernesto P. Mata, Ruben H. Suguitan, Brenda Marie Gonzales, Delia A. Valdez, Cherry Lyne Flores, Noemi S. Lidem, Rolando Rosimo, Dra. Maritess Galacio, and Benjie Rullepa.
