Liga ng mga Barangay-La Union Chapter President Manuel Victor “Mannix” R. Ortega, Jr. led the “I Love My Barangay, I Love La Union” outreach program of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on August 18, 2017 at the San Juan Gym.

Representing Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ex-Officio Member thanked the people of San Juan, La Union for their continued support to the Provincial Government especially on its bid to become the heart of Agri-tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. He said that the popularity of San Juan as the Surfing Capital of the North will carry the Agri-tourism sights of the province.

Mannix was welcomed by San Juan Mayor Arturo P. Valdriz and members of the Sangguniang Bayan. Mayor Valdriz thanked the namesake of former Governor Manuel “Manoling” C. Ortega for gracing the outreach program of the PGLU. Mayor Valdriz assured Mannix of their unconditional as well as to the leadership of Gov. Pacoy.

During the outreach program, indigents of San Juan were accorded with groceries; medicines; free medical and dental check-ups; wheel chairs; X-rays; supplemental feeding; and other assistances.

Formerly known as Operation Rang-iti Barangay (ORB), “I Love My Barangay, I Love La Union” caters to the needs of the grassroots especially the indigents. It is also one of the tools of the PGLU in cascading to the barangays the vison of the province most especially the participation of farmers in strengthening Agri-tourism in La Union (Governor’s Press Corps-La Union).
