Provincial Information & Tourism Office

In a recent dialogue conducted by the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Manuel C. Ortega and ABONO Part-List Representative Emmanuelle “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, together with the various Local Government Units and local leaders of the province, it was agreed that a massive election information dissemination drive should be conducted to solicit the vigilance of voters to prevent possible election fraud and make them familiar with the upcoming automated elections.

Audio-video materials showing the proper and step by step way of voting using the new ballot form, proper shading, feeding of ballot to the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) Machine and tips to protect the sanctity of the ballot will very soon be shown to various areas of La Union. With the info drive, the provincial government hopes to eliminate fears from voters on using the new voting system especially to first time voters and the elderly who usually assume that the automated election is complex and difficult and eventually attain a peaceful and orderly election. This is also in accordance to the voters education campaign launched by the poll body and its drive for clean and honest election.
