To affirm his utmost commitment and accountability, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III presented the accomplishments of the Province of La Union during the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Validation on Thursday, Aug 24, 2017 at the Pasalubong Center, Mabanag Justice Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union. The assessment aims to validate if the of Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has satisfactorily complied all the parameters as basis of Good Local Governance.

The Seal for Good Local Governance (SGLG) shall be the standard set by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the performance of Local Government Units along the assessment areas of Financial Administration, Tourism, Culture and Arts, Disaster Preparedness, Peace and Order, Social Protection, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, and Environmental Management. For 2016, 5 of 20 component LGUs passed the assessment process thus received the seal.

“In our efforts to further engage our component LGUs, by right mandate, PGLU has a higher role that seeks to constantly engage the LGUs as productive contributors to community building,” said Gov. Pacoy.
