Social Welfare Services

Clients rendered with social welfare services are distributed as follows:
  • Day care children served = 13,715 pre-schoolers
  • Family Planning Motivation = Pre-Marriage
  • Counseling (PMC) 1,261 engaged and would-be  married couples
  • Responsible Parenthood Service (RPS) 1,262 couples
  • Special Social Services to Solo Parent = 79 solo parents
  • Special Social Services to Elderly = 2,516
  • Emergency Assistance = 10,037       
  • Practical Skills = 1,134

Services offered across client category

Family Welfare

  • A total of 79 Solo Parents benefited from the Special Social Services for Solo Parents

Child and Youth Welfare

  • Out of 576 barangays, only 529 have Day care Centers.
  • A total of 13,715 day care children were provided Day care services with  529  active  Day  Care centers and 542
    day   care workers for a ratio of 1 worker for every 26 children

Disabled and Elderly Welfare

  • A total of 2,516 elderly were   assisted in CY   2006 . However,    not    all    municipalities    have     Senior Citizens Center.
  • Disabled persons were served by way of assisting them in acquiring technical  aids  and  prophylactic  services such as  the  operation  of   the stimulation   and   therapeutic activity   center   and Rehabilitation Centers   that   are strategically situated provincewide.
  • For   individuals   at  risk,   information dissemination on disability prevention was conducted.
  • Financial assistance was awarded to handicapped/disabled groups/organizations to  develop their skills and be able to participate in development.

 Emergency assistance

  • About 10,037 clients  were  provided  with  various  emergency assistance services in CY 2006

Barangay Outreach Program

  • Thru the Operation Rang-ay Iti Barangay, free medical  and dental services, immunization, nutria-feeding and blood typing were rendered to the barangay folks.
  • Certified vegetable seeds were given to the local officials and subsequently distributed to the residents for backyard gardening as part of the security program of the province.
  • Anti-rabies vaccination on dogs and artificial insemination of large animals were also undertaken.

Programs for the Indigenous Cultural communities

  • A    total of 80 Tribal Councils, 6 Municipal Federation of tribal Council and 1 Provincial Federation were   organized under   the auspices   of  the  National Commission of Indigenous People
